With booming Digital India, there are several websites in the ecosystem that are already offering services online, including groceries and banking to commute. Particularly for the e-commerce, India is too big a market to ignore, and this is the reason why two big international brands, Amazon, and walmart-led Flipkart are expanding their reaches to every corner within the country. Now, a domestic service, named Jio Mart is being launched by Reliance, that initially aims to service groceries and household stuff store.
All You Need To Know About Jio Mart Grocery
About Jio Mart
Jio Mart would be the e-commerce marketplace that directly connects the retailers to consumers i.e. it will not be involved in handling out the storage but will connect local retailers & merchants on the portals with the consumers directly and allow them to sell their goods to the customers. This is unique, and will help the customers with their purchases without any added storehouse costs.
However, it would be wrong to start comparing it to Amazon and Flipkart right away, since Jio Mart is only going to act like a normal groceries’ and a clothing hub, and doesn’t have plans for electronics and other items, as of now.
Why Jio Mart?
The key takeaway of this company would be no minimum orders for availing free home delivery, and it’s true guys ! No need to have a minimum order of 500 or 1000 (some places) in your cart to be able to cash in to the free home delivery.
We’ve copied some general specifications from the website, and they are :
i) Free home delivery
ii) Safe delivery of products
iii) Fast delivery
iv) No arguments will be done while returning the products
v) Time to Time updates about the products will be given to the consumer.
In the beginning stage, it would only sell household products such as soaps, and vegetables too, which are unlikely to give tough competition to the other apps such as Amazon, but since it is being projected as a groceries’ store, it is certainly going to compete against similar category of apps such as Grofers, and Big Basket.
Jio Mart Pre-registration
Jio is actually offering benefits of Rs 3000 on pre-registrations, and you need to do that before they launch their app. Note, the app isn’t currently available for downloads, but there are speculations that it will soon be released. The service will be available at all major cities.
The consumers can visit Jio Mart & pre-register to avail real benefits of upto Rs 3000.
This service is currently only available in Thane, Navi Mumbai,& Kalyan, etc so customers of these places can use this service right now, but the app will soon be launched officially at pan-India level. Following credentials will be required for registration :
i) Consumer name.
ii) Email-ID which is optional
iii) An in-use phone number, to receive the OTP and offer details, if any
Also, the user will be asked about his pin-code at the portal. The registration is a cake-walk. So register ASAP.
Jio Retail Registrations / Franchise Application
The Reliance retail is working proactively and retailers are being encouraged to register on the venture. The idea is to create a big ecosystem that could help counter the hegemony of international e-commerce brands over the Indian markets.
You can also choose to register as a retailer and avail the services offered by the company that have to do with your sales and taxations. Thanks for being there.
